Assembly Instructions

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

for Model 50 and 100 Zinc Conductor Weights

  1. Position one half of the weight onto the conductor.

  2. Align the second half above it and insert the bolt washer assemblies.

  3. Place a flat washer onto each bolt, then add a nut.

  4. Tighten the nuts lightly to ensure the halves are properly aligned.

  5. Apply torque to the nuts: 30-35 lb./ft. for Model 50 Weights and
    35-40 lb./ft. for Model 100 Weights.

    BARE CONDUCTOR INSTALLATION
The weights should be located as near to the point of suspension as conditions permit. This will generally be in the range of from 2 to 6 inches from the end of the suspension clamp, and will prevent the weight from contacting other line hardware.

    INSTALLATION OVER CONDUCTOR PROTECTION DEVICES
When installation is to be done over such devices as armor grip suspension or armor rods, the weights should be located out from the point of suspension a sufficient distance to avoid clamping the weight on an expanded or basket-like section.

    SERIAL INSTALLATION
When two or more weights are required on a conductor on the same side of the sus-pension clamp, space the weights approximately 5/8” to 1” apart to avoid any possibility of contact between them. Installed weight contact might cause sharp protrusions with resulting corona emissions.
